In 2004 Maserati introduced the fifth series of the Quattroporte. Friend and foe could agree on the beauty of the design. Immediately titled as worlds most beautiful saloon car by the combined automotive press. Less happy they were with the type of transmission the car received as the only available option. The so called Duo Select gearbox. Factually a robotised manual with a conventional gearbox and clutch that would, if desired also work automatically. This automatic changing of gears took a long time and for this reason Maserati received a lot of criticism. In my opinion unjustified; the car was targeted at drivers that desired a spacious sedan that would have the driving characteristics of a sports car, the automatic-mode was a side-issue. Just a mode like German top of the bill cars have as well. Now has the Quattroporte a reliable Ferrari V8 engine with chains that take care of the timing, attached to a sensible German ZF box. The Quattroporte has a slightly more sporty chassis than the average German. In combination with the astronomical engine sound, the most exciting sedan in the world. And the prettiest of course.
The Quattroporte evidently has all the luxuries you find in limousines within the highest segment. Amongst others. automatic duo zone climate control with separate controls for the rear passengers. fully electric seat controls with memory function, Maserati/Blaupunkt MultiMedia Auto system with DVD navigation and cd changer, Park Distance Control front and rear, traction control, cruise control, board computer, BOSE speaker system, multifunctional and electric adjustable steering wheel, electric adjustable sunshades in the back, 20 inch alloy wheels, full interior carried out in beige leather, etc.
The in beautiful Grigio Granito ( a mixture of grey, black and brown) executed body is in original new condition. Not one damage or trace of usage to be found on the car. The paint has a deep lustre and the car had evidently been garaged. It concerns metallic paint. The car remains in first paint and therefore remains damage free. It's probably on behalf of the Park Distance Control that also the bumpers remain completely undamaged. The car salesman would say; 'completely new'
The interior is carried out in Pearl Beige as Maserati calls it. The leather is also used on the door cards and dashboard. The upper side of the dashboard has carefully been executed in black to prevent glare from the windshield. The dashboard, centre console, gear selector and door cards are all furnished with real wood. Evidently the traditional clock in the dashboard ticks away. Many details like the kick sill trim, cockpit and headlining accentuate the stylish typical Italian Maserati atmosphere within the car.
Self explanatory the engine compartment is pure and clean. Completely corresponding the low mileage on this Quattroporte. Everything is original. Despite the light coloured upholstery in the luggage compartment there are no traces of usage to be seen. Under the load floor one finds the original toolkit. The 20 inch wheels are all four undamaged and wrapped in Pirelli Pzero tires. In the centre of the alloy wheels too, one subtly sees the Maserati Tridente emblem.
Acquired from the second owner. Delivered to the Dutch owner by us three years ago. The first owner of the car had the Quattroporte official Maserati dealer serviced. Thereafter the maintenance was done by a Maserati specialist. This can be verified in the original service booklet. The Maserati board documentation is completely filled in. The car will be delivered with a new MOT and servicing.
