Mini Cooper British Open, a car not named after a tennis tournament in Great Britain, it rather refers to the enormous sunroof, which is nearly as big as the entire roofpanel. Only 1000 limited examples of this rather beautifully named classic Mini were constructed in 1992. Meanwhile fitted with fuel-injection which improved the engine-cycle and the reliability. On behalf of its enlarged 1275cc engine with injection it was now 50bhp that powered the front-wheels. 1992 is somewhat of a long time ago, and a straight and rust-free body is not granted on these cars, the tick of time and English metal are relentless, if the car would have lived its life in northern Europe. This Mini I acquired from an older Italian collector/enthusiast who was looking to slowly reduce its collection. Those are goods signs when you are interested in a dry and rust free Mini. The land climate of Tuscany guarded over the condition of this Mini which is above averagely nice and original. Mind you, it does not concern a new car; study the bright work and original interior for example. Also note details such as the alloy wheels, the burl wooden dashboard, the fun floor mats and primarily; the easily opening sunroof. A mere 1000 examples of this nice specification were built, rare and unscathed by the tick of time; a true classic!
