How could Porsche ever improve the 997 I caught myself thinking at the introduction of the last version of the icon. Impossible was on the mind of many enthusiasts amongst me. Until Porsche unveiled the 991 at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) on 15 September 2011. After a ride in the newest acquisition of one of my nicest customers, it became clear quite rapidly, this is the superlative. A little less '911' than its predecessor by yet again another growth in dimensions, however mechanically a big step ahead. Even more stable on behalf of the enlarged wheelbase, lighter due to the usage of 'clever' materials which are in fact stronger and stiffer, quicker and smoother thanks to its enlarged engine power and as well light as communicative steering characteristics on behalf of electromagnetic power steering. With the PDK gearbox one can undoubtedly change gears quicker than with the manual gearbox. And then there is the fabulous adjustable chassis, one moment you're cruising through town and the next you are tackling corners like a racing driver, sound included on behalf of the sports exhaust. Just simply call it brilliant, because that's what it is. Have a seat in the incredibly designed seats and have a look around the interior, feel how all buttons and levers appear to have been made from solid titanium, Porsche has outdone itself. Qualitiät with a capital and an exclamation point at the end you can just envision on the gauges in front of you after you have started the engine. Above all there's the exhaust note, for the last time singing it's 'unblown' naturally aspirated raspy boxer song... current 911's lack this quality. That is half the fun gone...
Complete specification with automatic PDK transmission which can also be controlled via the steering wheel, automatic climate control, heated seats, navigation, Park Distance Control, adjustable sports exhaust with gloss black tips, bi-xenon lights, cruise control, infotainment system, 20-inch Porsche alloy wheels, etc.
Executed in gloss black the 911 appears best. Sporty and distinguished. This example is fully original and damage free. Never had any work done to it, garage storage has ensured the paintwork remains highly lustrous. No visual traces of usage.
The interior as well is wholly original, undamaged and as new. No signs of getting in-and-out of the car on the bolsters of the seats, all remains fresh, nice and clean. Original Porsche floor mats lay in the footwells. All switchgear, levers and the in leather upholstered steering wheel appear unused. The car smells 'new' still.
The engine in a 991 is barely visible. Under the nice rear deck lid lies the original 3,4ltr 350bhp strong Carrera engine. Evidently, also here everything is as new. The relatively large luggage compartment is seemingly unused and wholly original. The 20-inch alloy wheels are free from parking scuffs or brake dust and are wrapped in excellent Pirelli PZero tires.
Sold new in 2012. Dealer serviced. Comes with all original documentation and service history. Tires, brakes, and other points of maintenance are all up-to-date. The set of keys is complete. She will be delivered with a new MOT, warranty and a service.
